A Wind Turbine Foundation System Using Helical / Screw Piles

An innovative solution!

The growing popularity of renewable energy has prompted GoliathTech to conform its screw piles to support wind turbines. The durability and longevity of these structures are both important factors to consider. That’s why we’ve developed a reliable crew pile foundation system for wind turbines that securely anchors them in most soil types, helping them stay stable and withstand even the harshest weather conditions. Screw piles are by far a more stable and easier to install option than traditional concrete support systems.

A rapid and damage-free installation

Our quick installation process, carried out with light and compact equipment, allows you to avoid excavation and begin building as soon as the installation of the helical (screw) piles is complete. In addition, we can install them in all types of soils and spaces, even restricted ones that would normally be hard to reach. With the help of our certified installers, GoliathTech’s screw piles will support the foundation of your wind turbine for many years to come.

Finally, don’t forget that screw pile foundations are much more economical than traditional concrete foundations. This is another advantage that can’t be overlooked!

Frequently asked questions

Why should I use helical (screw) piles for houses or buildings over other foundation systems?

There are 2 types of foundations that can be used for homes: spread footing/foundation wall (or frost wall) and concrete slab-on-grade. helical (screw) piles can be used to support both the concrete and the home, above grade. Using our calibrated installation equipment, we install the piles at a minimum depth to a specific torque. With the information obtained from the installation equipment, we know the exact compression and tension capacity of each pile. We then encase the pile head with the concrete footing or concrete slab to ensure the concrete will not settle or crack over time, which is often the case when piles are not used.

What are the advantages of using helical (screw) piles vs concrete for houses or buildings?

  • Guaranteed pile capacity calculated
  • No risk for cracking as foundation settles over time, whereas concrete will always have the risk of settling and cracking
  • Removable and reusable system
  • No delays between the end of the installation and the beginning of work
  • Perfectly level structure

What are the different types of home or building foundations?

  • Helical (screw) piles
  • Concrete slab
  • Spread footing/foundation wall
  • Footing/frost wall

How much does it cost to install helical (screw) piles for my house or building project?

Please contact a certified installer for a quote for your specific project

Do I need footings for this type of application?

YES/NO
We can install a home on piles alone, however, some areas still require a spread footing even though piles are used.
